The Inky sings the praises of local craft beer.

Rick Nichols, the guy who isn’t Craig LaBan who writes about food and drink for the Philadelphia Inquirer, has a long, front-page story on craft beer in this morning’s edition. The focus is on Dogfish Head (great lead about a rainy day in Rehoboth Beach) but touches on Yards, Victory, Philadelphia Brewing and Sly Fox among the folks who make the brews, and Shangy’s, Monk’s, Standard Tap, Johnny Brenda’s, Memphis Taproom, Grey Lodge Pub, Sidecar Bar & Grille and Fork among those who sell it. Good stuff, pretty accurate (although there’s one number in there I’d like to see verified) and a bit of a slap in the face to the wine crowd (the story closes with a note from Oregon Public Radio that winemakers are organizing to fight back against craft’s encroachments).

Go. Read.
