Memphis Mystery Beer Weekend ballots now online.
If you’re planning to take a shot at the Mystery Beer Weekend event at Memphis Taproom which runs Friday through Sunday, the ballots are now online for downloading, listing all 33 beers to be poured (they’ll also be available at the pub, so no need to download if that goes against your religious or social beliefs).
Also, if you want to warm-up for the big event, everything on tap at Memphis will be selling for $3 a pint tomorrow night as they try to clear the taps for the weekend fun.
This is a local concept up there with Friday the Firkinteenth and the Royal Stumble for originality and is probably, certainly in its scope, unique in the beer world (somebody will correct me if I’m wrong, or maybe even if I’m right). I wouldn’t touch it even if you paid for my beers, to be honest, because that way lies a great potential for humiliation and I get enough of that on my own.
Another beer blogger is not so circumspect and she gots the chops to warrant her bravery. Suzy Woods finished second last year, only missing two beers. Note please that Lance Romance “forgot” his ballot the second day and ended his participation. Wise man. Not smart enough as am I to lock the doors and stay inside below window level all weekend until the danger passes, but clever enough to bail once he realized he was over-matched.

How is the above comment any different then any other weekend for you? Or any day for that matter.

You know, when I wrote this post the thought crossed my mind that it would bring out the disturbed people but I had hopes the holiday weekend might already have captured their limited attention. Live and learn.

Jack! Stop hating on the disturbed people!
Like me. I’m so scared of Mystery Beer Weekend that I’m leaving town.

Men can forget, women never do.
