Where To Find Cask Ales in the Philadelphia Area.

One of our regular commenters here,  Kevin, has a new site which lists all the cask beer currently on tap in the Philadelphia area. He appears to update it daily (or close enough for gummint work) and I would imagine this would be of as much  interest/use to several of the less participatory readers as it is to me. I have therefore  added it to beer website list at  jackcurtin.com, back where we all used to play and frolic in the sun before things got so serious. There’s a link at  right to that section of the old site, where I have to go  back and do some  work real soon now to keep it viable.

  1. Jack,

Thanks for nod. It is very much appreciated.

  2. You did a good thing. All I did was link to it so people would think I’m cool too.

  3. I just stopped in at Dawson Street Pub this afternoon. One of the hand pumps was pouring Sly Fox Rt. 113 IPA, which I’d never seen on cask before in the city. EXCELLENT stuff!

  4. While my basic position is that Anything tastes better at Dawson Street (the “world’s greatest pub?), I concur that Rt. 113 is an excellent, often overlooked, beer and particularly good on cask.

  5. Don,

I think they just started putting it in casks. I have seen it on at Teresa’s Next Door a week or so ago and it is on there now as well. Some of the bartenders at the Royo location said that it would have some for distribution available soon. I guess now is soon. It indeed is a great beer.
