The Day Prohibition Ended? A Curmudgeon Says This Ain’t It.

All over the nation today, thousands of beer fanciers will be raising a pint to mark the end of Prohibition in 1933.

Bob Skilnik begs to differ.

Skilnik, a Chicago beer writer and author of several books, the latest being Beer & Food: An American History,* is also the guy who did a pretty good job of demolishing one of craft beer’s favorite myths, so I use the “curmudgeon” reference in the headline advisedly.

* Purchase it at the link and a few cents goes to the support of Liquid Diet (which we refer to around here as a Very Good Thing). For a larger selection of beer books (soon to be expanded and updated) whose purchase accomplishes the same highly desirable result, go here.
