Let’s talk about beer ver. 2.1. Now with pictures.
I don’t really like to use PR photos around here but this one just came in from Jen Hatton at Profile and I’m impressed she’s working of a Friday night and it is pretty good and it ties in with the previous post and the news about Yards. So:

Who are these guys? 1st Row - Brewery Manager Tim Roberts, Lab Manager Frank Winslow, Andrew Rutherford; 2nd Row - Rick Anstotz, Andrew Horne, Founder Tom Kehoe, Steve Mashington, Dave Mcgaffin, Mitch Albach, Steve Welsh.
And, as long as I’m caving in to the PR stuff, this is from the news release (emphasis added by me):
The new property, situated in one of the country’s most historic brewing neighborhoods, will allow Yards to increase its brewing capacity from local legend to a position of prominence among the East Coast’s premier breweries. Yards will aim to integrate environmentally and socially sound practices like recycling, renewable energy and community involvement into every aspect of their business, in the hopes that others will see how easy it can be to build a business that is both successful and sustainable. The brewery will be 100 percent wind-powered by the end of 2008.…
The team will initially produce four Yards favorites for draught consumption: Philadelphia Pale Ale, a crisp citrus-inflected palate-pleaser brewed with pilsner malt; Extra Special Ale (ESA), a robust and hearty amber ale with a malt body and aromatic hop finish; India Pale Ale, a hop-inflected ale with a firm malt background; and Brawler, a malt-forward, English session-style ruby ale. In early 2009, visitors to the brewery will be able to sample Yard’s brews in a comfortable tap room, located in the brewery, which will also be used for special events.
Eventually, Yards will increase their portfolio to include “some older favorites,” says Kehoe, “beers we haven’t had room to produce recently but that people will know as Yards classics such as Trubble de Yards and Old Ale.”
By golly, I believe my work here is done.
sounds like somebody has been reading New Belgium’s business plan.
All right! Kenzo4life with an (I guess) anti-Yards comment. I feel like I’ve finally made the big time. Welcome.
That’s an anti-Yards comment? k4l, you’re going to have to do better than “Yards is so dumb they’re following the lead of one of the most spectacularly successful and responsible craft brewers ever! Can ya believe how dumb they are?!”
I mean, Jack and I are assuming it’s an anti-Yards comment. That’s what you do, right?
[...] Liquid Diet has a cool photo of the Yards men posing in their now functioning new brewery. Also of note is that by early 2009 there should be a tap room in which to sample beers. [Liquid Diet] [...]
