As hinted at over here earlier today, a pair of Iron Hill brewers are on the move (Mark Edelson just gave me the okay to release this):
Chris LaPierre will be taking on the job as the new Head Brewer when Iron Hill Maple Shade, the first New Jersey location opens this spring.
Moving over from North Wales to replace Lappy as Head Brewer in West Chester will be Larry Horwitz, the man with the incredible year-round tan.
The new Head Brewer at North Wales hasn’t been announced yet but it apparently will be a promotion from within.
So now Lappy gets rid of what must have been a very annoying commute on many a day; Larry gets to be the guy with the enviable cask cellar and he and Whitney can probably carpool; somebody new gets to be on the A Team and the rest of us just keep on enjoying all the solid beers.
Sounds like Win/Win.

shoot. I was supposed to release it.
Oh well you win some…
Suz, whatever you think, just don’t accuse me of distracting you at the Beef & Beer yesterday while Jack planned his subterfuge. Jack goes to West Chester, and regardless how much he drinks, always seems to cause a stir
Well, whoever gets to break the news, I agree with Jack…wins all around from owner to brewer to asst. brewer to consumer
