The local beer community is a cool place and it’s always fascinating to see how everything works. About three minutes after I posted this which was about five minutes after Lew Bryson broke the story and emailed me about it, the phone rang. It was the inimitable Tom Peters of Monk’s Café.
“Somebody just told me something and I wasn’t sure so I went to your site to find out because you’re my basic source for this stuff and…” Yes, he was asking about the Terry Hawbaker resignation and had visited here minutes before I posted. I told him his information was accurate and we talked for a few minutes; in the process I told him some other stuff I knew and learned more information he’d gotten from his source (not ready to go public with that) which I later shared with Lew. And then we made plans to try and meet at Tired Hands one day soon (or maybe Forest & Main, or maybe both).
I dunno exactly how, in the strange and often disturbing path of my life, I ended up where I am, but I am grateful every day.
