A brewpub at a spruced-up Linc?

That’s what’s being reported here (bold and spelling corrections you won’t even be aware of are mine):

The [Philadelphia Eagles] are set to renovate Lincoln Financial Field to the tune of at least $60 million over the next two off-seasons. Field-level suites, extra seats, a free-standing brewpub at HeadHouse Plaza (100,000-square-foot area outside the stadium), and technological video improvements are all in the works. All told, the project will be the most expensive renovation on any NFL stadium built in the last 10 seasons.

The question is, of course, do they actually know what a brewpub is and will it be a brewpub or a fancy-named bar. Whichever, it suggests a focus on beer and in this city, when you focus on beer it better be good beer.

So who would be the logical choice to operate a true brewpub at the Link? I have my guesses but I want to hear yours.

    Here is my guess…

4th paragraph. I’m betting they didn’t put up much of a fight because they heard about this opportunity instead. I’m also guessing it won’t be a typical brewpub that brews beer on premises. Of course that would not make it a brewpub either, but who cares about semantics. ;)

I’ve been trying to talk Dick Yuengling into a Philly-area brewpub for years. It would KILL.

I will neither confirm nor deny any negotiations that have or have not been taking place on my behalf.

Who would I want or do I think would be most likely. Victory has the capability of doing it. I would love to see Yards or Flying Fish. McKenzies or Iron Hill could do it as well. Would make a great test market opportunity for a brewery before they commit to bottling something year round.
