Stuff we already knew.

The official press release announcing that Chris LaPierre would be the head brewer at the new Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant in Maple Shade, NJ, arrived in tonight’s email.

I revealed that information, and more, right here about six weeks back. Mark Edelson gave me the information and permission to use it, although he doesn’t recall the second part. Or maybe there was a misunderstanding. Whatever. The deed was done long ago.

And, as of a few days ago, I know who the new guy in North Wales will be. As is the usual Iron Hill practice, he will be a promotion from within the company.  This time Mark and I are on the same page and I won’t reveal the name  until they do or the next Mid-Atlantic Brewing News, where I’ve already done that, appears at month’s end.

As I say, moving guys up in the ranks is the way Iron Hill rolls and it definitely works well for them. You don’t hear anybody complaining about the beers of Tim Stumpf in Phoenixville or Paul Rutherford in Lancaster, do you? Those were the last two Iron Hill promotions from assistant to head brewer.

Interested parties might want to find their way over to Larry’s blog, he seems to have missed the memo about keeping the North Wales promotion quiet.

Once my story was out there, keeping it quiet was over. The news release is for those who don’t read all those important blogs. Or this one.
