Andy Crouch on GABF 2012 is definitely worth your time, as are the comments which follow (hopefully, there will be more of the latter).
Was Victory at this? Did they not get any kind of recognition yet Iron Hill (In my opinion a very sub par and way overpriced place did!)Whats up with that?
I don’t know if Victory entered beers this year or not. If they did, none of them were awarded medals by the judges. Iron Hill is one of the most decorated and admired breweries in the the craft beer world and a perennial medal-winner. They have never not medaled at least once at any GABF from the first first time they entered beers 16 years ago.
Why is that ? Because they have so many outlets?Victory has it all over them in my opinion and of other people I know.I guess we are in the minority. There stuff is really not that good and their bottles are way over priced(I don’t care if they are hand bottled or not those prices are way out of line!Just my opinion)Thanks for the responce I appriciate it!!! In responce to the most decorated why is V ictory so much recognized by the public? I guess because they distibute and are more reasonably priced both in their brew pub and in the market place.Which is probably because they are in 29 states(?) and have better beer in my opinion.
