The Hartranft/Maida Empire expands.

Michael Klein breaks the news once again:

Brendan Hartranft and Leigh Maida – who have worked the outskirts of town with West Philly’s Local 44, Kensington’s Memphis Taproom, and Grays Ferry’s Resurrection Ale House – are heading into Center City.

News we can believe in. Thanks to ever-vigilant Tom Foley for the heads-up and even the headline. If that guy ever gets a job that takes up much of his time, I’m out of business.

And on the local front, Railroad Street Bar and French Quarter Bistro have bought Fitzwater Tavern

My first and oldest watering hole after moving west.

Fitzwater Station, in Port Providence? Used to go there over thirty years ago. That could be exciting to see what they do with it. I like French Quarter and Railroad Street has become our favorite good beer and better bar food place.
