Beer Wars.

I have a pass for tonight’s showing in King of Prussia. Not going to use it and I can’t explain why. For whatever reason, I have developed a strange sense of ennui about the whole thing.
Yes, I will probably regret my choice. But, you know, been there done that.
More than once.
This doesn’t mean I won’t be interested in all the reviews and comments sure to flood the intertubes starting at some point tonight. Anybody here who wants to jump in with his or hers, that’s what we invented Comments.
and New Century thanks you :-p
I’m going, but I have sort of diminished expectations. Sam C? A legend. Rhonda Kallman? I’m sure she was a great exec at Boston Beer, but now she’s a contract brewer? With a brand that I never heard of before the buzz surrounding the film started. Should be interesting, though.
I’ll be heading out to Warrington 22 shortly to see Beer Wars. But first I’ll be finishing up my Nugget Nectar
finishing up fresh St. Somewhere Saison here in St. Pete, FL…over to Tampa for the movie and some local beer scene afterwards….will let you know how it goes
I’m going to the showing at Desert Ridge in Arizona…not sure what to expect, but if their “Blue Moon” clip is any indication, I’m afraid I’ll come away thinking “what a bunch of self-important….” I know Blue Moon is a Coors product…I can read a label for crying out loud.
I’ll sample some microbrews at the local pubs near the theatre first. Imagine I’ll post some comments at Beer Rant but I’m no movie critic…
I just got back from the theater. The comments I heard the most as I was leaving: “Did I just pay $15 to watch a 2 hour long commercial for this new caffeine beer?” “That chick in the movie had a huge rack” and “Why was Ben Stein in this?”
Hah, are you sick of the nonstop promos on BA, twitter, beer blogs, etc like The Mad Fermentationist: http://madfermentationist.blogspot.com/2009/04/beer-wars-brewed-in-america-rant.html ?
I would have given it a shot, but Thursday night is Fishtown Beer Runners night, which wins pretty much every time.
